Who I Am
"Moreover, I, on my side, require of every writer, first or last, a simple and sincere account of his own life, and not merely what he has
heard of other men's lives; some such account as he would send to his kindred from a distant land; for if he has lived sincerely, it must
have been in a distant land to me." - Henry David Thoreau
I was born and raised in "upstate" New York. I am a Distinguished Graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and an
Honors Graduate of New York Medical College. I was a Conscientious Objector before, during, and after the first gulf war (Operation
Desert Storm) and was an Amnesty International Prisoner of Conscience at that time.
I have published articles on various websites including LewRockwell, Counterpuch, Alternet, Whatreallyhappened, Future of Freedom
Foundation and Strike-the-Root, Mediaroots, Dissident Voice, The Libertarian Alliance, and others. I have also spoken at various
universities, published in magazines including The Nation, and have been written about in many newspapers. My essay 'Defending My
Freedom" has been published in the college text Dissent in America by Ralph Young.
I have been a practicing Emergency Physician for many years. I wish to maintain a patina of anonymity. I write under a pseudonym
because I do not want my opinions to be misconstrued as the opinions of my place of employment, or to interfere with my doctor-patient
relationships.
